March 30:
Earth Hour is a one hour event that takes place every year on March 29. It started with Sidney, Australia as the forerunner and it supported by the WWF or World Wildlife Foundation. The goal is to make people and businesses turn off their non-essential lights for an hour, starting at 8:00 in their respective timezones. The lights are supposed to dim as the world turns. This year, more countries participated than ever before. It is a "green" act, meaning it is supposed to make people aware of global warming, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Apparently, they already have a logo for Earth Hour, as you will see in the video link, but it is still my duty to make a logo for the article. The logo is a black circle, of course representing the earth, and the skyline of Sidney is darkened but still visible in the background. Inspiration came from the logos of: Department of Foreign Language, San Jose State, Ca; Ligitly-Noble and Associates; and Sigma Network LL.
